Christmas Fun at the Pop-Up Pub

Stocking Pelham may not currently have a pub amongst its assets but, on the evening of Saturday 9th December, our Village Hall was temporarily transformed into a busy and welcoming pop-up pub, full of festive family fun and convivial chat over hot dogs and mince pies, washed down with a pint or two or a glass of prosecco. To a musical backdrop of all the usual Christmas hits from Wizzard to The Pogues to Wham, children were entertained by 'Pin the Tail on the Fox' while the village Masterminds fought out a keenly contested festive pub quiz. Later on, after a sing along of carols and Christmas songs, it was time for one last pint and the drawing of the raffle before time was called and the Stocking Pelham Pop-Up Pub popped back down to being a village hall once again!

Thanks to everyone who helped in the planning and running of the evening, to all those who generously contributed raffle prizes and especially to all the villagers and friends from neighbouring villages as well who turned up on a cold winter's night to make the evening a success and show why getting our pub back is so important for the community.
